It looked so space-aged and like no other guitar I’d ever seen! In my admittedly limited experience of electric guitars back then, I was used to seeing guitars that were designed in the 1950s, like the Fender Telecaster or the Gibson Les Paul. The thing that appealed to me the most was that it had a chrome/mirror finish. I thought “Wow! That guitar looks so cool and futuristic!” I remember having a guitar magazine at the time, and in it was an advert for the JS2. I think my first introduction to Ibanez guitars was quite early on in my guitar playing journey when I first saw one of the Joe Satriani signature guitars the Ibanez JS2back in about 1990.
